Amazing trip to Kuntala Waterfalls, Andhra Pradesh….ENJOY THE DRIVE

Friday night with friends suddenly we made a plan to visit to this beautiful place, alothugh we were planning to go for long drive to some nature destination as I see superb of rain across Andhra Pradesh in this year of 2013. At last, we decided to go to Kuntala Waterfalls which is around 270 KM from Hyderabad. I heared and read about this in few palces and looks interesting.

Myself and few friends decided to go to this place and do entire trip in one day and also we were ready to stay overnight to any near by place in forest if found. We prepared for this trip by understanding road conditions, directions, accessibility, restaurants available enroute to Kuntala etc.,we planne dto drive toi this place by Honda Amaze….we were 4 people and among 3 can drive

We planned to meet at my place in Gachibowli at 7 AM on 19th September 2013, Saturday. Finally, we managed to leave place at 8:00 AM. we took Miyapur road and then crossed Alwin circle and headed toward the coca cola factory and the took the same highway which crossed Medchal and landed us on Nagpur Highway . Road was excellent four lane separated by dividers , but toll is also very good amount Paid around Rs. 400 (4 different places are toll both ).

For the real drive enthusiastic this is great road to drive , you can even touch ypur vehical to top speed , we touched our vehical to 140 but can go more than that was the actual excitement . we finally reached Nirmal town by 11:15 AM which is around 210 KM from Hyderabad. we found very good dhaba in the town and that served really good food tasty spicy , here one thing to note that one who loves to eat at dhaba’s this road is for them, you will found lots of dhabas on this drive, and they serve really good food….Took some lunch parcels at Krishna Residency in Nirmal and proceeded further. Immediately after Nirmal there is a stretch of ghat section which is very nice through dense forest, hills and believe me the road is one of the finest in India i have seen, you will find some turns almost 360 degree and om my god what a road to drive . simply amazing. The drive was really enjoyable.

After travelling around 30 KM we reached a village called Neredikonda. Just after this village, we need to take right into small road. We need to careful as there is no sign board that directs to water falls. Its very small road. After travelling around 10 KM through lush green fields, dense forest finally we reached water falls around 02:00 PM. The trip shows 281 from my home to waterfalls.

The place is a hidden heaven on the earth. Completely covered with dense forest, valleys, birds chipchipping. The story has not over yet. We walked around half a kilometer to reach a place where it shows 408 steps down to waterfalls. After 10 minutes of effort we finally can see the scenic beauty of waterfalls. I feel its very difficult to put them in words the beauty of the place. We further trekked another half a km though big rocks to reach the foot steps of the waterfalls. You cannot just stop to say WOW! The water is gushing through rocks from height of 200 feet in to mulitple streams. I have seen lot of falls in India , but the best part of this fall is that , but this one is very accessible, one can reach up to the foot of this place….

BUT MAKE SURE THE PLACE IS VERY SLIPPERY , SO PLEASE DO NOT SHOW ANY SORT OF ADVENTURE, BRAVERY HERE, SO NO SHOW HERE, JUST ENJOY THE PLACE AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION WRITTEN THERE…

We straight away jumped into falls and enjoyed there for more than a hour. Its hot and humid out there but the experience overuling them. Finally our excitement settled after two hours of enjoyment in water. Had good swimming and bath there after 2 hours we left from the place and climbed 408 steps up and had tea and sit for a while enjoyed the nature there and came back

Finally, we started returning to Hyderabad at around 5:30 PM from waterfalls. After too many natural speed breakers (cows, goats etc., running on small village roads) brought atleast 30 mts delay in our trip. We finally reached Nirmal around 6:30 PM. We then faced night traffic of heavy trucks. After 2 hours of drive from there we stopped to one dhaba for oiur dinner and what a great taste we found and then again after 100 km of drive we took break for tea and around 11:00 PM at last, we reached home at around 11 PM.

Its truly amazing trip ever had in a day. Its little tiring but worthy.

I strongly recommend to visit this place especially between September to Novemeber as this year we had really very good rains in AP and this year the fall throws more water….
